Providence Projects

Dual Diagnosis & Addiction Rehab Centre, Bournemouth, Dorset

Since 1996, The Providence Projects has helped thousands of people break free from alcohol, drugs and behavioural addictions, as well as co-occurring mental health problems. Based in the coastal town of Bournemouth, our affordable private rehab centre offers 44 beds and a full spectrum of care in a safe, structured and genuinely caring environment.

Our clinic provides a complete treatment pathway under one roof – from medically supported detox and primary treatment through to secondary care, sober living and long-term aftercare. Set close to the seafront, with comfortable accommodation and welcoming communal spaces, it’s a calm, restorative place to focus on your recovery.

All treatment is personalised. From your first free assessment, our experienced team will build a plan around your history, your health and your goals – whether that’s alcohol, drug, prescription medication or gambling addiction. With evidence-based therapies, practical workshops and holistic activities, you receive the tools you need not just to get clean, but to stay well.

Our goal is to make high-quality private rehab genuinely accessible. The Providence Projects is one of the UK’s leading affordable residential rehabs, with transparent pricing (for example, a 28-day programme at £7,995) and no hidden extras. We’re regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are part of the UKAT Group, so you can feel confident in both the standard and the safety of your care.

We’ve created an atmosphere that feels warm and homely rather than clinical. All clients have their own bedroom, there are cosy lounges, therapy rooms, gardens and kitchen/dining areas, and our team work hard to ensure you feel welcomed from day one. Many of our staff are themselves in recovery, so they truly understand what you’re going through.

Why we are different

  • The Best Quality Care

We combine clinical expertise with lived experience of addiction. Founded by Steve Spiegel, himself in long-term recovery, and developed in partnership with addiction expert Dr Peter Turnbull, our programme is built on evidence-based therapies and real-world understanding of what works. Over 10,000 people have been helped through Providence Projects since opening. Our treatment pathway covers every stage of the journey: medically supervised detox (where needed), intensive primary rehab, extended secondary care and sober living. You’ll take part in individual counselling, group therapy, CBT, DBT, 12-step work, trauma therapy, workshops and holistic sessions such as yoga and mindfulness – all tailored to your needs and delivered by a multidisciplinary team.

  • Our Work Culture

At Oasis Bradford, we have a standard work ethic of hard work and commitment.

At The Providence Projects, we pride ourselves on a culture of compassion, honesty and hard work. Many team members have personal experience of addiction and recovery, which means they bring genuine empathy along with professional skill. We regularly review and refine our programmes using the latest evidence and client feedback, so care is always evolving around what helps people most. From your first assessment through to aftercare, you’ll be treated with respect and without judgment. We believe there is always hope, no matter how many times you’ve tried to get clean before. In return, we ask for your willingness to engage with the programme and take responsibility for your own recovery – knowing that our team will be right beside you every step of the way.

  • Family Recovery

Addiction affects partners, children, parents and friends – not just the person drinking or using. That’s why The Providence Projects offers dedicated family support, including family therapy, education, guided communication and ongoing contact after discharge where appropriate. We help families understand addiction as an illness, address resentment and hurt, set healthy boundaries and rebuild trust. Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or for someone you love, we’ll work closely with your support network so that everyone can move towards a healthier, more hopeful future together.
