Counselling from Get Connected

Our telephone counselling service is suitable for you if you are aged 25 or under and looking for short-term help with your mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Our counsellor’s help by listening to your problem and helping you find ways to cope. They could help with things like stress, bereavement, family problems, relationship difficulties, mental health issues or helping you sort through a problem that is making you upset. A Counsellor can ring you to explain more and then you can decide if you want to carry on. Would you like someone to get in touch?

The first session will last up to 40 minutes and will include an initial assessment, which includes asking a few anonymous questions to make sure we’re offering you the right support. The sessions that follow will usually last 20 minutes.

Both you and your Counsellor can decide to end sessions at any stage. You might do this if you feel you’re not getting what you need, or the Counsellor may do this if they feel that referring you somewhere else would be more helpful for you. If you complete your sessions with our team, we may also refer you to other services.

Your sessions are designed to be a confidential, safe space where you can find ways to improve your mental health and wellbeing. Our Counsellors are available Monday – Friday, from 9am – 5pm.

Our service’s currently facing a high demand, please check back soon to sign up for counselling sessions.

Please note that our service is not suitable for you if you are already receiving counselling from another therapist. Please note that if you are on a waiting list for treatment you can still access our service.

Please let us know your phone number, if it is ok to leave a voicemail and a convenient range of time frames for the counsellor to call you back between Monday to Friday from 9am-7pm (and your age, location, first name if we don’t have this already).

If you feel that you want to end your life, please seek immediate help from the emergency services on 999.

You can also contact HopeLineUK on 0800 068 41 41 or Samaritans.

If you are being abused, you can contact ChildLine on 0800 1111 or Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90.
