On February 28th representatives of networks including Orange, Vodafone, O2 and T-mobile helped raise £208,000 to support Get Connected's 2008 awareness campaign. Auction lots included a five-star holiday in Antigua, tickets to the Superbowl and the opportunity to record your own version of a famous love song courtesy of Radioville.
The event was held at Frankie's Bar and Grill in Knightsbridge and organised with the support of The Carphone Warehouse. Phil Jupitus hosted the night and guests were encouraged to bid by Andrew Harrison, UK Chief Executive of The Carphone Warehouse and Trustee of Get Connected.
Auction lots were kindly donated by The Carphone Warehouse and friends including Channel 4, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Motorola and Freud Communications, as well as the main mobile networks.
Get Connected would like to thank all who contributed to the event - you've made it our most successful auction ever! The funds raised will enable us to ensure any young person who needs help knows they can turn to Get Connected.
