Auction raises £145,000
The theme of Get Connected's Charity Auction 2009 was a binary one, as we're celebrating our 10th year of existence and expect to help our 100,000th young person this year.
The amazing amount raised by the event will bring us much closer to this landmark in our history, and we're very grateful for the support of The Carphone Warehouse and their friends in making the auction such a success.
As ever, the auction lots comprised something for everyone, with smart technology for the gadget-conscious, luxury holidays for those in need of a treat and an extreme sailing experience for the adventurous. We were also very proud to auction a designer corset made by Navin Patel, partner of one of our volunteers.
This year's venue was the Stationers' Hall in central London, which as you can see was a beautiful setting for the proceedings.
We'd like to thank our volunteers and trustees who helped us make the most of this great opportunity, and also Richard Special who entertained our guests with magic.
