Nobody's Perfect

On Tuesday 21st October, Get Connected took over the Odeon in Covent Garden for the premiere of four short films that the winners of our Nobody's Perfect competition created.

The winners - Adam Wedd, Stephanie Lennox, Zemmy Momoh, Toby Cohen, Dulani Wilson, Timothy Unzola and Thomas Grigg - were all there, as were members of our celebrity judging panel Sandi Thom, JJ Feild and Georgia Groome.

As an added bonus, Anne Hathaway, Lily Allen and Jonathan Demme were also there to watch a BAFTA screening of the new film, Rachel Getting Married and stopped by to chat.

The films were all rapturously received by everyone in attendance.

We'd like to once again extend massive thanks to everyone who helped us with this hugely ambitious project, to everybody who entered the competition, and to our winners for creating four intelligent, powerful, articulate and quite brilliant films.

We'd really like to do it all again, if you want Nobody's Perfect to come to your city, please vote in our poll.

Get Connected on the news

[Get Connected on the news]

I know this is where we usually interview one of our volunteers and normal service will be resumed next month but since we're feeling so proud of ourselves at the moment, we thought we'd give you the chance to watch a news report about the Nobody's Perfect film premiere.

ITV Local filmed the entire night and showed a full report of the event three times on the day after the premiere.

More blogging

In the only bit of non-Nobody's Perfect news on this month's ALOL, we just wanted to point you in the direction of a new blog that we've set up.

It's written by Mudia - a 17-year-old who's been volunteering in our office for a few weeks. Mudia is, like many of you, hoping to head off to university next September and will be writing about, amongst other things, the experiences he has with his exams and other elements of the application process.

Hopefully Mudia will be joined by some other young volunteers in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out.
