... Get Connected!

At the Charity Times Awards, we fended off competiton from the likes of Adidas to win the Corporate Community Involvement Award.

The award was for our partnership with eatsleepthink, the design agency who are responsible for almost every single visual aspect of Get Connected's brand.

eatsleepthink thoroughly deserve this award, which recognises their enormous contribution to Get Connected.

The judging panel called the partnership between Get Connected and eatsleepthink, "An interesting and unique corporate partnership with the company using an innovative approach to its work and re-branding the charity."

Meet John

[Meet John]

Each and every month we interview one of our wonderful volunteer helpline workers to help you get to know the people at the other end of your phone, email and webchat conversations.

This month it's John's turn. That's a self-portrait of him just over there. I have to say, it's not a great likeness!

ALOL: "What was the most moving call you've ever taken?"
Alison: "Probably from a ten year old boy who was being bullied at school and had had enough and wanted to know how to get it stopped. He rang a couple of times and got his mum involved - it was more like being a business consultant and coming up with the answers to his questions"

The organisation behind the charity

It's probably safe to say that none of you are strangers to the Get Connected website. After all, it's how you signed up for ALOL.

But you might not know that we recently launched an area of the website to document and detail the organisation behind the charity.

It might not be relevant to all of you but if you're a parent, or a professional who works with young people or you just want to know a little bit more about the organisation, you should click here to have a look.
