Nobody's Perfect - Sharing Concerns and Worries
The idea for Nobody's Perfect sprang from our flyers (pictured below) which we'd produced to encourage young people to share their worries.
We wanted to communicate the message that everyone gets stressed at some point, about something, but you don't have to hide it - and it doesn't have to stop you achieving your ambitions. It can even help.
In line with our principle of giving young people a platform on which to share their thoughts and feelings, we chose film as the medium for the Nobody's Perfect Competition, where young people can submit music, scripts or acting/directing on one of the following themes:
Relationships Sexuality
Emotions Self-harm
Housing Bullying
Eight of them will be selected by a panel of high-profile judges to join expert film-makers and make their own short films. The resulting short films, on the topics above, will be screened at the Covent Garden Odeon on October 21st. We wanted to make it a really memorable night for the young film makers, so there'll be red carpets and photographers and all the glamour you'd expect of a London premiere.
We'll be showing the young winners' films everywhere we can after their London premiere. Visit www.nobodys-perfect.co.uk for more information.
