Meeting Every Child Matters Outcomes
Get Connected contributes to the Every Child Matters outcomes for young people by:
- Supporting young people's emotional health help by giving them emotional support, and giving them access to services that support their physical and emotional well being
- Enabling young people to stay safe by connecting them to refuges, Social Services and organisations trained to help them stop self-harming, as well as ensuring they find help with issues that could lead them into danger, for example running away from home or taking drugs
- Finding young people help with education, training and volunteering opportunities to improve their economic wellbeing, and giving young parents access to advice on benefits, employment and housing to help them provide a secure home for their children
- Empowering young people to enjoy and achieve by finding them the help they need to be happy and confident, and by enabling them to overcome barriers to enjoyment and achievement such as bullying, depression and relationship problems
- Providing opportunities for young people to make a positive contribution through our Young People in Management programme and (for those 17 or older) by becoming volunteer Helpline Workers on our helpline.
