Every month we take the liberty of asking our already busy volunteers to answer a few question to help you get to know the people that answer your calls and reply to your emails and webchats.
This month it's the turn of Ruby. That's a picture of her over there. Why did you start volunteering?
I am thinking about becoming a social worker and so I wanted to gain some relevant experience. I think it is important for people to volunteer, especially if they have spare time.

I am a young person and I like young people.
Do you remember your first call? What was it like?
An insulting test caller!
What was the most moving call you've ever taken?
The first time i heard a caller crying was quite humbling and made me feel a great sense of responsibility.
What was it like for you as a young person going through difficulties? Were there helplines available? Where did you turn for support?

What do you get up to when you're not at Get Connected?
I'm busy with my A-Levels at the moment but I like going to art galleries, gigs and festivals and talking to my pet snails.
What's your ringtone?
Ring ring...
What was the last film you saw? What did you think of it?
The Orphanage. It was well scary.
