.... Get Connected.

Yes, we're chuffed to bits that our webchat service won the ICT Hub Award for Delivering Social or Environmental Benefits through ICT (Information and Communication Technology).

This is a fancy way of saying that our webchat service helps many young people receive the help they need.

Webchat is now available from 7pm to 10pm every day of the week, so if you ever have anything you need to discuss and would prefer not to do it over the phone or by email, you might want to try webchatting with us - safe in the knowledge that you’ll be using an award-winning service.

Introducing Jiselle

[Introducing Jiselle]

This is the section of ALOL where we introduce you to one of our fantastic, dedicated and inspirational volunteers.

It's Jiselle's turn this month. As you can see from her amazing self-portrait, she's a bit of a demon with Microsoft Paint.

She's also always at the cinema watching independent films the rest of us have never heard of and has a Chaka Khan song as her ringtone. No, they don't come much cooler than Jiselle.

ALOL: "Why did you choose to work specifically with young people?"
Jiselle: "I think young people have a lot to offer if they’re give the space to realise their potential but I also think young people are often affected by things happening around them that they have no control over."

There have been quite a few stories about young people in the news lately, and we've been featuring them on our blog.

Firstly, there was news that school leavers may be required to swear their allegiance to the Queen. This news hasn't gone down well with the readers of our blog.

This was followed by a news that videogames may face stricter ratings and tighter controls about internet access could also be introduced.

Both these stories are pretty interesting and could potentially affect all of us. So why not have your say by commenting on our blog?

And finally....

The story of Whitie, the Albino Alligator

Biochemistry, the Lego way

A monkey on a motorbike
